The year 2024 confirmed theimprovement of nuclear power production. With the resolution of the corrosion problems of some reactors, the nuclear fleet has regained a high level of availability. RTE announces an increase in nuclear production in 2024. It would be between 340 and 360 TWh in 2024 against 320 TWh in 2023. For this winter, availability is estimated between 45 and 50 GWh, with a total capacity of 61.4 GW. Efforts are continuing to reach the level of the 2010s, around 55 GW in December and January.
On the renewable energy side, 2024 is a record year for hydroelectric power. With 62 TWh, production increased by 40% compared to 2023. Rainy spring and summer have filled the hydraulic stocks for the winter.
