Energy is an essential commodity to run industries, ensure transport and comfort in buildings. From coal to water to oil, gas or solar radiation, various energy resources exist.
For several decades now, humans have been able to produce energy from various sources. However, energy production is much more advanced with some resources than with others. We are certainly not teaching you anything by saying that the fossil fuels are the most used around the planet.
However, due to the impact of this type of energy on the environment, renewables are highlighted more. For the moment, it is not possible to completely replace traditional energy sources with so-called “green” sources. The concept of energy mix thus finds its raison d'être. SirEnergies tells you what you need to know.
The energy mix refers to all the types of energy used to meet the energy needs of a region or country. Also called” energy mix ”, this corresponds to the distribution of energy sources primers used.
Around the world, the energy mix includes:
The energy mix therefore includes energies intended for all uses. This makes it possible to meet energy needs (electricity, heat or cold, fuel, etc.). The energy mix is composed mainly according to the availability of resources.
The energy policies put in place by the public authorities also determine the distribution of energy sources. On the occasion of international climate summits, all countries are called upon to invest more in the production of renewable energies.

Energy mix phonetically rhymes with electrical mix, but the two concepts do not have the same meaning.
The energy mix is transversal, taking into account the resources used to produce all kinds of energies.
On the other hand, the electricity mix refers only to the distribution of the resources used to generate electricity. It therefore does not take into account hydrocarbons used in vehicles, natural gas or wood used for heating. Electricity is the segment of the energy sector in which renewable sources are exploited the most.
The energy mix is practiced in all countries in various proportions.
Across the world, the concept of energy mix is becoming more and more important. While renewable energies are promoted, fossil fuels still occupy the largest part of the energy mix.
As proof, according to figures from the IEA (International Energy Agency) dating from 2016, fossil sources make it possible to produce 80% of the world's energy. Renewable sources, on the other hand, only contribute to 14% of production (in 2016).
The most industrialized countries are those in which the share of fossil energy resources is greater. For example, China is breaking records in energy production. In the Middle Kingdom, coal eliminates other sources, representing around 60% of the energy mix. However, China is making efforts since in 2019, it produced 30.1% of the world's hydroelectricity (source: BP Statistical Review of World Energy).
In India, coal also plays a major role in the energy mix. For example, its rate compared to final electricity consumption in 2019 is 57.6% (source: BP Statistical Review of World Energy). This country from the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, India, India, China, South Africa), which is experiencing an economic surge, seems not to be interested in environmental issues.
Nor does the United States have any ecological lessons to give to its economic competitors. Uncle Sam's country is the world's second largest energy consumer, behind China, according to the IEA. In 2019, fossil fuels correspond to 91.5% of the American energy mix. Data on coal can still give hope to people committed to the ecological cause.
Renewable energy production actually surpassed that of coal in 2019. The departure from power of Donald Trump, an apostle of fossil fuels, could finally promote compliance with international climate treaties by the United States.
In Europe, the energy mix is still very much dominated by fossil sources. However, efforts are increasing tenfold to reduce the proportion of fossil fuels in energy production. The rate of renewable energies in the energy mix was 15.5% in Europe in 2019. Behind this rate are realities specific to each European country.
The Paris Climate Agreement, in force since November 2016, encourages states to readjust the composition of their energy mix. France is trying to follow the recommendations of this treaty and those of other agreements in order to succeed in the energy transition.
This is reflected in the composition of the energy mix in France. Certainly, traditional sources still lead the way. However, renewable energy production is on the rise, especially hydraulics, which is the second source of electricity after the nuclear.
Renewable energies constitute 13.1% of primary energy consumption, but rather 19.1% of gross final energy consumption in 2020. Their proportion in the energy mix has improved by 10 points since 2005 (source: statistics.developpement-durable.gouv.fr). The renewable energy sources mainly used are wood energy, hydraulics, biofuels, wind, heat pumps, solar photovoltaic...
The sector for the production of this new type of energy is developing. The proof is that in 2018, more than 8.6 billion euros were invested in the field and 68,000 jobs were created there.
Nevertheless, France is far from being the best student in Europe when it comes to evaluating the proportion of renewable energies in the energy mix. In 2019, it occupied only the 17E Rank in the European Union. Major efforts remain to be made both by the political authorities and by the populations.

The energy mix can be applied at the individual level. You have the option of using fossil fuels and renewable energies in your business. It is the ideal choice if you want reduce your carbon footprint and participate in the ecological fight. In addition, it allows you to make significant savings.
According to environmental regulations 2020 (RE 2020), any new construction must respect the BEPOS concept (Positive energy building). You must opt for works and installations that allow you toobtain the Effinergie+ label implemented by RE 2020.
This label is linked to the energy mix. It is awarded to buildings that meet the following formula: EPNR balance ≤ Authorized difference with: EPNR balance = non-renewable primary energy balance.
The Allowable Gap = the allowed positive energy gap. This corresponds to the difference allowed for the building to be eligible for the effinergie+ label, regardless of the type of construction and geographical location.
The aim of RE 2020 is to reduce the production and consumption of fossil fuels while maintaining comfort in buildings.
In addition to the effinergie+ label, the standard also takes into account the Bbio coefficient (bioclimatic need) of buildings. The use of renewable sources to cover the energy needs of your home will help you get the Bbio for it.
To meet the requirements of the RE 2020 environmental standard, for example, you can use high-performance glazing. You can also install power generation equipment. Choosing a heating system that uses wood pellets can also be useful. Photovoltaic sensors, a heat pump and a thermodynamic water heater are, among others, equipment to think about to make an electrical mix.

Sourcing consists in identifying and analysing the offers of several electricity and gas suppliers. This approach makes it possible to obtain contracts adapted to the consumption profile and budgetary constraints of the company.

It allows you to prove your commitment to the energy transition and to meet regulatory requirements.

.png)
The industry is concerned by TICFE, TICGN and other contributions that may represent an important part of invoices. Sirenergies identifies cases of exemption and accompanies the procedures to benefit from them.

Exceeding capacity leads to financial penalties and can impact the size of the contract. Adjust the correctly subscribed power makes it possible to avoid these additional costs.

One invoice consists of several elements: consumption, supplier share, taxes and contributions. The analysis of each line makes it possible to identify possible errors and to check the consistency with the signed contract.

Tertiary companies must manage their energy costs while guaranteeing the comfort of users (offices, shops, services). Consumption is often linked to heating, air conditioning and lighting, which requires precise monitoring to avoid budgetary excesses.
.png)
This makes it possible to choose the right time to contract, secure your budgets and anticipate increases.
.png)

La Multiannual Energy Programming (PPE) is the strategic management tool for France's energy policy. Established by the 2015 law on energy transition for green growth (LTECV), it serves as a compass for the State, communities and businesses.
Concretely, the PPE sets the priorities for action of the public authorities for the management of all forms of energy on the national territory. It covers a period of ten years, divided into two periods of five years, and must be revised periodically to adapt to technological and economic developments.
It deals with major topics such as:
It is crucial not to confuse it with National Low Carbon Strategy (SNBC). While SNBC sets carbon budgets (the ceilings for greenhouse gas emissions by sector), the PPE determines the technical and energy resources to achieve them.
.png)

In 2025, the supplier had a NPS (Net Promoter Score) of +16 and a note of 4,17/5.
Satisfaction is based on a “zero solicitation” model and 100% in-house customer service in Toulon, guaranteeing proximity and responsiveness that cannot be found with major historical suppliers.

The subscribed power must be calculated according to the consumption profile and uses (heating, industrial processes, tertiary equipment). One fine analysis makes it possible to ensure the adequacy between real need and contract.

.png)
The €/MWh is a price unit used in wholesale markets, while kWh is the unit visible on your bills.

Some businesses may obtain a partial or total exemption from the TICFE or the TICGN, depending on their activity and energy intensity. The support of an expert makes it possible to identify the eligibility criteria and to put together the file.
.png)
.png)
Among the taxes include TICFE, TICGN, CTA, CJA and TURPE. They represent a significant part of the bill and vary according to consumption profiles. Understanding them well is essential to optimize costs.
.png)
Tertiary companies are concerned by taxes such as TICFE or TICGN. Sirenergies checks the accuracy of invoices, identifies possible exemptions, and helps correct errors to sustainably reduce costs.

The central objective of PPE 3 is to engage France towards carbon neutrality by 2050 by breaking the country's historical dependence on fossil fuels.
Today, approximately 60% of final energy consumption in France still relies on imported oil and natural gas. PPE 3 aims to radically reverse this trend by setting an ambitious target: to reach 60% of carbon-free energies in final consumption by 2030.
To achieve this, PPE 3 pursues three major sub-objectives:
.png)
.png)
To calculate Scope 2 emissions, use the following formula:
Energy quantity (kWh) × Emission factor (kg CO₂ e/kWh).
Use databases like ADEME for precision.
.png)

Yes. The supplier guarantees an offer 100% renewable via the official Guarantees of Origin (GO) mechanism.
For the most demanding companies, the offer GREENVOLT+ ensures very low carbon intensity electricity, sourced exclusively from independent French producers (hydraulic, wind, solar).
